Heat recovery depends on operating conditions
A condenser recovers additional heat from flue gas when operating conditions allow condensation. Return-water temperature, fuel composition and system arrangement all matter. Ask for performance at your design and seasonal operating points.
Read the efficiency basis
Efficiency figures based on lower heating value cannot be directly compared with figures based on higher heating value. State the fuel basis, water temperatures, load and test standard when requesting or comparing performance data.
Include condensate and materials
Specify condensate drainage, neutralization where required, suitable flue materials, and maintenance access. Select the whole heating system rather than an isolated efficiency headline.
Evaluate boiler efficiency at actual load points, compare LHV and HHV bases and investigate high flue gas temperature with measured data.
industrial boiler dynamic efficiency calculation
Evaluate each representative load interval using useful steam or water heat output divided by fuel energy on one stated basis, then aggregate energy totals over the period. Include start-up and standby consumption. Time-averaging unrelated nameplate efficiencies is not a valid substitute for measured operating data.
how to increase industrial boiler efficiency
Start with measured fuel, steam, feedwater and flue-gas data at representative loads. Review heat recovery, insulation, condensate return, steam leaks and operating schedules. Prioritize changes using verified savings and engineering approval; combustion adjustments belong to qualified personnel using the correct instrumentation.
industrial boiler flue gas temperature high
Compare the temperature with the commissioned baseline at a similar load and fuel. Fouling, changed combustion conditions, bypass flow or sensor error may be relevant, but temperature alone cannot identify the cause. Arrange inspection before changing settings and check heat-recovery and material-temperature limits.
